Budgeting Apps That Help You Take Control of Your Money

It seems that everyday there are new apps, tools, and tricks popping up to help save money. We know how overwhelming that can be. But, we also know how important it is to find new ways to save some money!

Budgeting is one of those important “adult” skills that can often become stressful and induce a lot of anxiety. And honestly, do any of us ever actually feel like adults? This can lead to a lot of us just ignoring it all together, but that really isn’t working either.  However, there is hope! Once you get in a rhythm, it’s smooth sailing!

Luckily, we live in an age of technology –  smartphones, tablets, slim computers- which means budgeting apps are quite literally at your fingertips. You can definitely  find the one that works for you and your needs. We all need that extra support in different ways. An easy-to-use budgeting app will make things a whole lot easier.

In order to make this as easy and painless as possible, we researched some of the top apps and even had our team try them out ourselves so that we could give you our true thoughts on the pros and cons of each of them.

Mint

A personal favorite is Mint. The Mint app allows you to sync bank accounts, set financial goals and keep an eye on your monthly budgets for categories that you can customize. It also monitors your credit score each month and suggests different services that would help you along your journey to financial stability.

It can take a bit of time setting up, which is most easily done on the computer.  Once you have your budgets in place and your goals established, Mint makes it super easy to track. Do you ever feel like you have money and suddenly it’s gone and you don’t totally understand where it went? Well, utilizing Mint makes it easy to get the whole picture of your finances and where that money is going so you can better plan for the future.

Wally

There’s also Wally, which is one of the best apps to track your expenses. Wally allows you to balance your income and cut down on expenses all in one. You are able to receive a 360 view of your money, from what comes in to what goes out. Wally allows you to assign recurring income and expenses and take photos of your receipts. Even though the Wally app might take some time to figure out, once you get the hang of it, you will be more than satisfied with your new budgeting skills.

Prism

Lastly, we present the Prism app. This hassle-free app allows you to track all your bills in one place. It offers you the ability to schedule payments, organize and pay your bills directly from the app.  Prism will also send you reminders about upcoming due dates for your bills – so you never have to worry about missing the electrical bill again.
